Obie is OKTO’s AI assistant. It helps leaders find information, understand context, and complete supported work without turning every question into a manual search through the platform.
Start with a goal
What do you want to do?
Choose the outcome that matches the work in front of you. You can come back to the deeper reference sections when you need details.
Ask a better question
Give Obie a specific goal, person, module, or decision so it can work from the right context instead of guessing.
Understand ministry data
Use Obie to interpret relevant operational context and surface the next place to look when a question crosses modules.
Protect permissions and context
Understand how Obie should stay inside the data and permissions available to the signed-in user.
Use current documentation
Obie can retrieve from the canonical OKTO documentation so product guidance stays aligned with the current platform.
Recommended flow
A good first workflow
- Ask for a specific outcome rather than a broad description of a module.
- Review the context Obie used and make sure it matches the organization and workflow you intended.
- Use the suggested next step or explanation to narrow the work.
- Review and confirm any supported action that changes data or communicates externally.
What Obie is for
Section titled “What Obie is for”Obie can support experiences such as:
- Explaining how to complete a workflow
- Finding relevant information from the current OKTO context

- Suggesting the next place to look when a question crosses modules
- Assisting with supported actions while preserving permissions and confirmation requirements
Context and permissions
Section titled “Context and permissions”Obie should use the context available to the signed-in user and organization. It must not expose data the user would not otherwise be authorized to access.
Documentation knowledge
Section titled “Documentation knowledge”The documentation platform is designed to become part of Obie’s knowledge source. As canonical MDX is updated, Obie can retrieve from the current documentation rather than depending on a hard-coded product description.
