Group Chat
Section titled “Group Chat”Group Chat gives each group a dedicated conversation space so leaders and members can communicate without moving the discussion into a separate platform.
Access model
Section titled “Access model”A group’s chat is scoped to that group. People who are not part of the group should not be able to read its conversation. This keeps ministry and community conversations separated from other groups in the same organization.
Typical uses
Section titled “Typical uses”- Meeting reminders and schedule changes
- Prayer requests and care updates
- Volunteer coordination
- Follow-up after a group meeting
- Sharing links, notes, or next steps
Managing group membership
Section titled “Managing group membership”Chat access follows group membership. If someone needs access, add them to the group first. If someone should no longer participate, update their membership rather than relying on the chat thread as the source of truth.
Group membership is managed from the Groups overview and is also reflected on a person’s profile.
Group Chat originally appeared inside a broader legacy Forms & Journeys release page. It now lives here because Groups is the canonical owner of the feature.
